The Kentville Home show wrapped for another year on Sunday April 17th. Always a popular draw, the backyard giveaway package was once again a coveted prize many attendees tried to win. This years lucky winners were Eva and Paul Brown from Aylesford. Mike Surrette and Will Young from AVR/Magic were on hand to help present the loot with Mayor Corkum on Tuesday.
Organizer Kevin Bennett said the show was “another success” stating that as usual vendor spaces filled up quickly and like other years he had a list of vendors in waiting hoping for an opening. The show has grown in popularity with both vendors, and attendees over the last few years. Over 25oo people were recorded through the gate over the three days the show ran.
Bennett also said the arena is growing in popularity as a place to host premier events similar to the Kentville Home Show. The weekend prior the Centennial Arena hosted the Darwin Events organized “Annapolis Valley Sportsman Show” which was also a popular draw for people. “We’ve already booked them again for next year, they were pretty happy with the turnout”. Other events scheduled at the arena this year include wrestling, a two week sale celebrating Valley Volkswagen’s 20th Anniversary which also includes a free Rolling Stone Tribute band Concert, and a “World’s Largest Garage Sale” event.
