Information
Do you have an interest in Ham Radio?

We offer a Ham Radio training course that will enable you to write your Industry Canada licensing exam.

If you already have your license, we offer a variety of assistance with whatever your interests are.

Amateur Radio is an interesting and evolving hobby for people of all ages. Children as young as 10 years of age have earned their amateur radio license. After obtaining your license and with a minimum output of funds to purchase a transceiver, new or used, and a simple wire antenna you can enjoy many hours talking to other amateurs around the world. There is no longer a requirement to learn Morse code, and all amateurs around the world have a working knowledge of the English language.

There is more to amateur radio operations than just voice communications. If you wish a simple interface between your transceiver and computer and there are seemingly endless operating opportunities that could catch and grab your interest in this relaxing hobby.

A good way to spend long winter evenings!

The KCARC is willing to organize the training so you can obtain your license, and there are several members who would be willing to help get you on the air and comfortable using your radio.

Check out our web site at the link noted above!
