#268-270 Main Street

The Stage Coach Inn c.1815

It served stagecoach passengers from 1829 until the introduction of the railroad. Main Street was originally named the Old Post Road and was the major road leading from Halifax to Annapolis.

The Duke of York (Future King George V) stayed here after the hotel was sold to James Lyons in 1830. The future King was here on a shooting expedition in Kings County and his guide was a Kentville man named William Webster.
