Municipal Elections

October 17, 2020

Residents of Kentville will join citizens of other municipalities across the province in municipal elections to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020.  Mayor Snow has been reelected by acclamation.  Nine candidates have been nominated to fill the six seats on Town Council:

  • John Andrew
  • Craig Gerrard
  • Paula Huntley
  • Cathy Maxwell
  • Stephen Pearl
  • Cate Savage
  • Frank Twohig
  • Gillian Yorke
  • Andrew Zebian

Hélène Lavigne has been elected by acclamation to serve as a member of the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial in the Greenwood district.

Qualifications to Vote
In order to be eligible to vote:

  • you must be 18 years or older on the first advance polling day (October 8)
  • you must be a Canadian citizen on the first advance polling day (October 8)
  • you must have been ordinarily resident in Nova Scotia for at least six months immediately preceding the first advance polling day (by April 8)
  • you must be a resident of Kentville since immediately before the first advance polling day (October 8)
