After a widespread search and interview process, I am pleased to announce that Kelly Rice, CLGA, has been appointed the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Kentville effective November 4, 2019. Kelly is thrilled to become part of the Kentville team as Kentville is known province-wide as a vibrant community bursting with civic pride.
Kelly has over 20 years experience in all levels of municipal government ranging from Clerk/Treasurer for villages to, most recently, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Annapolis Royal. Prior to that, Ms. Rice was Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Westville.
Kelly has a deep understanding of all aspects of municipal government processes including administration & finance, economic development, human resources, public works, water/wastewater management, solid waste management, policing, public transportation and collective agreement negotiations. Kelly believes the key to success is open communication and prides herself on her ability to develop strong relationships with Council, staff and the community. She is described by her peers as a team leader, highly-organized with the ability to motivate personnel to work towards the common goal. Her energy, enthusiasm and ability to problem solve will serve the Town well!
Mayor Snow and Council are thrilled that Kelly will be joining our team. Please join me in congratulating Kelly on her appointment and welcome her to our community on November 4!
