Sidewalk Enhancement Project - Work starting Monday May 6

Work on the much anticipated Downtown sidewalk enhancement project will begin on Monday May 6th on Webster Street. The work will include removing the existing surface, fixing things up underneath, pouring new concrete, and adding some bump outs.  In some areas, new tree grates will also be installed to allow for the continued greening of our downtown.  This work will greatly improve accessibility as well as contribute beautification and we are looking forward to the finished results!

Crews will start on the West end of the inside block on the south side of Webster Street (in front of Phinney's Clothing).  The only section being completed immediately and starting Monday is the section in front of the Phinney's store, down as far as the corner at the intersection of Aberdeen/Webster.

Eventually, work crews will complete the rest of inside block moving counterclockwise, meaning the next section to be done will be the section of Aberdeen Street headed south towards Main. Individual business operators and property owners will be notified when work is likely to begin directly in front of their properties, and should also be able to see advancement towards their specific areas ahead of time as the project work is completed section by section.

We are excited to get started and are looking forward to safer, more beautiful sidewalks for all to enjoy.  We know there will be some inconvenience to operators and visitors as we get this work done and we thank you for your patience during construction season as we work to improve our downtown infrastructure.
