The Town of Kentville recognizes that current conditions are putting financial strain on some in our community. At the March 30th virtual meeting of Town Council motions were passed that aim to assist those experiencing hardship during this time of emergency.
- All interest charges will be waived on all outstanding accounts from April 1st – June 30th 2020. This applies to property taxes, water rates, and sanitary sewer rates
- The due date for property tax bills has been extended to June 30th 2020
These measures have been put into place in order to support those in our community who need it at this time. The Town of Kentville is encouraging those who are able to make their payments to do so.
Residents have many convenient options for paying tax bills, utility bills, and other town-related expenses.
Town Hall is currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Town Hall, you may make payments via cash, cheque, money order/bank draft, or Interac debit. You can drop off payments at the back door of Town Hall, but payment by debit is not available.
You may also make payments via Internet banking, telephone banking, and pre-authorized payment (PAP). To arrange PAP, please contact the Department of Finance.
By credit card
To make tax and/or utility payments by Visa or MasterCard, you may use the Paymentus system. Paymentus Corporation is a third-party automated payment service that charges a convenience fee to cover their handling and processing. The Town of Kentville does not receive any part of the service fee.
To use Paymentus, call 1-877-963-2807 or click Paymentus in the helpful links.
You will need to enter your payment information, including your tax or utility bill account number, credit card details, and payment amount. After you confirm to pay the Paymentus convenience fee, your transaction will be completed, and you will be provided with a confirmation number. Town Hall will receive instant notification of your payment and it will be posted to your account the next business day.
