Sports and Recreation Facilities

Sports and Recreation Facilities

For a town the size of Kentville, the quality and number of facilities we offer our residents—and visitors—is pretty amazing. We’re proud to offer people the resources they need to be fit, have fun, and get together with friends and family.

Recreation Centre

A versatile space for fitness classes, rug hooking, carpet bowling, community meetings and other fun programs. K-Towners rent the space too for great birthday parties, company parties, annual general meetings, and monthly gatherings. It’s a bright and happy space!

Kentville Centennial Arena

A regional centre for hockey, figure skating and events, and also for more laid-back community skating and pick up hockey. When it’s warm outside, the arena hosts the largest home show in the Annapolis Valley, featuring everything you could need for your home.

Tennis courts

Kentville’s tennis courts, in Memorial Park, are close to downtown so you can get in a game over lunch. Recently resurfaced, these courts host a tennis club, lessons, and a local pickleball league.

The rules at the Tennis/Pickleball Courts have been adjusted to adhere to current public health guidelines to help reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Recreation Hub

The centre of summer camps, with kids of all ages enjoying an awesome day at camp! Kids love the large deck for playing pirates, and the playground for playing tag.

Library

An architecturally stunning place to read, relax and hang.  Parents enjoy planing puzzles with their kids and finding new books to read.  Teens love that they can borrow a tablet and enjoy the free wifi.  And everyone loves that this is the place to curl up with a magazine, learn to knit, shop online and meet up with friends.  The library is Kentville's public living room!

Credit Union Rec Complex

A full-sized indoor field facility, used all year long for training and games for all ages. The complex is regularly used for soccer, rugby, baseball, football, indoor model planes and squash – it's home to the Kings county squash club.  Complementing the sports programs is the Town of Kentville sponsored seasonal walking & tot program. The Credit Union Rec Complex has become an important hub of social activity.

Glooscap Curling Club

The only curling club in Kentville, the Glooscap Curling Club has a large membership (including more than 50 junior curlers and 90 senior curlers) who play in fun bonspeils as well as regional competitions.
