Visiting Kentville
The warmest of welcomes.
Just an hour west of Halifax is a small population of friendly people who’d like nothing more than to show you an authentic good time. Between our charming downtown, special events and festivals, and our natural wonders, Kentville is always eager to entertain you. And with a rich cafe culture, we've always got the coffee on. So come on down and say hi!
Complimentary vitamin D
Kentville is an outstanding destination for the outdoor enthusiast. Explore the trails, both groomed and natural, stroll leisurely through a protected wetland habitat right downtown, or wander through trails that meander through a bird sanctuary. When we say Kentville’s “a breath of fresh air” we mean it!
Be a good sport
Kentville’s recreation facilities include a full-sized baseball diamond (largely revered as the best in the Atlantic provinces), three softball fields, a little league field, six soccer fields, an outdoor pool and splash pad, an arena, the Credit Union Rec Complex, squash court, a three-court tennis facility, curling club, outdoor basketball courts, and two maintained playgrounds. The Kentville Skate Park recently opened in the west end of Town, and skaters of all ages are pumped about the recent addition of a bowl!
Get that heart rate even higher!
If you’re looking for more adventure and fast-paced excitement, mountain biking and challenging hikes through 100-year old hemlock forests await you in Kentville! We host numerous mountain biking events each season including the Kentville Mountain Bike Festival, Canada Cup National mountain bike competition, Provincial point races, downhill races, and four cross (4X) events.
Festival excitement
There’s a lot to celebrate in Kentville, and we take every opportunity! Many people have made it an annual tradition to visit during the Valley’s signature event, the Apple Blossom Festival. And we would never argue with that. But we’re no one-note town. Kentville’s festivals and special events offer countless reasons to visit, all year round.
Learn about the past
There’s a lot to learn about Kentville's History. Luckily there are some great places to visit here that can help you do that. Kentville's Museums, murals, and historic sites tell quite the story of our collective past. Discover it for yourself!
