The Holly Days Festival is back in 2021 after a successful first run during 2020. The festival was created in partnership between the Town of Kentville and the Kentville Business Community (KBC) when COVID-19 restrictions threatened to put a damper on the usual celebration that typically takes place downtown during the holiday season.
"Organizers are very happy with how things went last year and we are all really excited to be delivering an expanded version of Holly Days in 2021" says Lindsay Young, Community and Economic Development Coordinator from the Town of Kentville. KBC adopted its new event strategy in 2019, and since then both the Town and KBC have been working really closely together on the execution of some of the items in the plan. With plenty of volunteer help of course! Holly Days replaced the traditional Torchlight Parade that Kentville had been running for over 30 years, and the community provided very positive feedback after the roll out of Holly Days in 2020. "We are so excited to welcome everyone back this year to experience the festival again, with even more fun events to participate in and enjoy. It's going to be spectacular!", says Young.
A Holiday Market, Yuletide Quilt Show, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Galas, Movies and Brunches, Live music, free treats and a late night shopping party are all scheduled to take place between Nov 19-21. Many of the events are free to attend, some require pre-registration and there is definitely something for everyone. Check out the full schedule and all the details on the official event page.
