Public Participation Meeting

Subdivision Bylaw Amendment

A Public Participation Meeting will be held at the Kentville Town Hall, 4354 Main Street, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at 5:00 PM on Tuesday February 10th, 2025 to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on or make suggestions to the proposed amendments to the Subdivision Bylaw.

Planning Application: The Town is considering amendments to the Subdivision Bylaw to ensure that services (primarily roads, curbs, and gutters), required as part of a subdivision process, are turned over to the Town in an acceptable condition.

This proposal includes:

• to delay the requirement for a street ‘seal coat’, the top 38mm layer of asphalt, by moving it to a secondary servicing item
• to extend the duration of the maintenance bond for secondary services from one to two years to help offset any maintenance required to the street over this period
