Hurricane Fiona Update

The Kings REMO Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) will de-activate as of 12:00pm on Sunday September 25, 2022.  Recovery efforts across Kings County will continue to be monitored remotely by the Regional Emergency Management Coordinator.  The Kings County Public "hotline" will no longer be monitored .  If you have an emergency, please call 911.  Remember, we should all be prepared to take care of ourselves and our families for a minimum of 72 hours.  The 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season continues through to the end of November.

Based on forecast track for Hurricane Fiona, the Kings REMO Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC), located at 181 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, will activate with municipal staff to support Emergency First Responders.

The Kings REMO ECC is a facility where key municipal personnel and other agencies involved in the response gather to support activities taking place at the site(s) of the emergency while facilitating a coordinated response.

The Kings County Regional Emergency Coordination Centre will have a “Public Hotline” available for the public to call in should they have concerns about the impacts of Hurricane Fiona.  The number for the Kings REMO Public Hotline is 902-690-6112.  The Kings REMO “Public Hotline” will be available for citizens to call as of 7:00 pm, Friday, September 23, 2022.  If your issue is an emergency, you should still call 9-1-1 and not the Public Hotline.  

Remember, if an emergency happens in your community, it may take emergency workers some time to reach you. You should be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours.
