Financial Assistance Programs
The countless positive benefits of sport, wellness, and cultural activities are well-documented. But sometimes cost can be a barrier to participation in these kinds of activities. To help make sure everyone in Kentville can live an involved and active life, Kentville is pleased to provide a number of different funding options for you or your group.
The Spike Fund
By providing financial grants for recreation, The Spike Fund promotes and enables physical activity, confidence and self-esteem building, health and wellness, leadership skills, friendships, and the opportunity to be part of a team. The fund has been growing and is always ready to be put into action. (Why “Spike”? It’s the mascot of Kentville, made famous in the book by Sandra and Ron Lightburn, “Pumpkin People”!)
Anyone in the Kentville and Kentville serving areas in need of financial support to participate in a recreation program can apply. Recreation is defined as any activity done for enjoyment when one is not working.
The Spike Fund always appreciates donations! Individuals and groups can donate through the Town of Kentville Parks and Recreation Department at 902-679-2539 or recreation@Kentville.ca.
Application is available to the right of this page under "related documents".
