The Town of Kentville has sold the Calkin Building located on the corner of Cornwallis Street and Webster in the downtown core.
The building had been on the market for 566 days, listed with Stacy deVries of Royal LePage Atlantic. The buyers are local investors who are keeping their plans for the future of the building private for now.
In it's previous life the building has been host to a number of varied businesses. During the time the town owned it, Hills Grills, Bake Me Happy Cafe, Lilypond Vintage and The Tides Contemporary Art Gallery have all called the building home, with Tides being the lone remaining tenant currently.
Said Mayor Snow of the recent sale, "The Calkin Building is a cornerstone in Kentville and has been a vital part of downtown business for many years. It is exciting that a new generation of local entrepreneurs will continue this legacy, putting their stamp on Downtown Kentville and finding success in all their pursuits".
The Town wishes to thank our partners at Royal LePage for their hard work on this sale, and we look forward to the future of the building under new stewardship.
