Public Participation Meeting Proposed Amendments to Limited Commercial (C3) Zone

A public participation meeting will be held at the Kentville Town Hall, 354 Main Street, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at 6:00 PM on April 9th, 2025 to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on or make suggestions to the proposed amendment options.

Planning Application: An application has been received to amend the Land Use Bylaw to permit residential conversions, up to three (3) units, in the Limited Commercial (C3) Zone. Residential conversions, creating up to four (4) units, subject to Section 5.1.11, is a permitted use within the One and Two Unit Dwelling (R2) Zone, Highway Commercial (C2) and General Commercial (C1) zones.

Staff has presented three options for Council to consider for the Limited Commercial (C3) Zone:

  • Permitting residential conversions of up to three (3) units.
  • Permitting residential conversions of up to four (4) units.
  • Maintaining the current prohibition on residential conversions.
