Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law
TAKE NOTICE that Kentville Town Council amended the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw to facilitate larger residential developments the Large Lot Residential (R5) zone. The amendments support coordinated multi-unit housing in high-density areas and large-scale housing and community developments, using Development Agreements where appropriate. These changes also align policy with existing regulations and ensure consistent, transparent decision-making.
Council gave Second Reading to the amendments on March 23, 2026.
The amendments were reviewed by the Provincial Director of Planning, who confirmed they are consistent with provincial interests. In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, Ministerial approval is not required.
This adoption is effective upon the date of publication of this notice. The revised document is available online at:
