Some recent changes to provincial regulations will make it easier for residents to complete home renovations and upgrade projects!

Some projects that used to require a building permit may no longer need one. The $5,000 threshold has been eliminated for non-structural residential projects, and has been increased to $10,000 for non-structural commercial projects. New regulations are also in place for "tiny homes".

As always, it is best to call and check with the Planning & Development Department about the permits you need BEFORE starting home or commercial projects, and we encourage you to let us know when you have something coming up.
