Public Participation Meeting
Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw Amendment
A Public Participation Meeting will be held at the Kentville Town Hall, 354 Main Street, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at 5:00 PM on January 22nd, 2026 to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on or make suggestions to the proposed amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw. The meeting will include two short presentations by staff followed by an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.
Planning Applications:
- 5:00pm: The Town is proposing amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to clarify how larger residential developments are reviewed in the Large Lot Residential (R5) Zone. The amendments would support coordinated multi-unit housing in high-density areas and large-scale housing and community developments, using Development Agreements where appropriate. These changes are intended to align policy with existing regulations and ensure consistent, transparent decision-making.
- 5:30pm: An application has been received to rezone 160 Main Street (PID 55246573) from the One and Two Unit Dwelling (R2) Zone to the Medium Density Residential (R3) Zone, along with a text amendment, to facilitate the conversion of a bed and breakfast to residential units.
Date/Time: January 22nd, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Location: Kentville Town Hall
