The Kentville Public Garden is now open for visitors to enjoy! The garden project was started in 2019 after a downtown property owner provided the Town with the property through a long term lease at no cost. Previously known as "The Kings Arms Patio", the Kentville Public Garden offers seating and picnic tables for folks looking to spend some quiet time in downtown Kentville.
Much of the foliage and vegetation in the garden was already there. It has been tidied and added to by town staff and volunteer groups. There is also a new centre garden area featuring a recently planted maple and plenty of fragrant lavender. The Garden features mature Japanese Maples, a number of different varieties of ivy, large established rhododendrons and all kinds of perennial plants and grasses.
Park hours are dawn to dusk daily and people are asked to respect the park rules as posted. The garden has two entrances, one in the front from the Main Street sidewalk which is accessible, and a back entrance into an adjacent parking area. We are so excited to feature our new rainbow bench, accessible picnic tables and decorative lighting in this space.
Feel free to take a stroll through, sit and stay awhile, have lunch, or meet up with friends in this new public space! We hope you will enjoy it!
Our sincere thanks to all of our partners on this downtown project!
