In response to the outbreak at Eden Valley Poultry Inc., Public Health is encouraging anyone who lives in the communities nearest the plant to get tested (New Minas to Middleton). This is a precautionary measure; there is no evidence currently of community transmission.
Walk-in testing is available at two locations in Annapolis and Kings Counties. You may get tested if you:
- have no symptoms
- are not a close contact of a person with COVID-19
- are not isolating because of travel outside of Atlantic Canada
You do not need to isolate while you wait for your results.
The testing method is standard PCR swab.
