Climate Change in Kentville: Planning for Kentville’s Future

Across Kentville, people are noticing changes.  Heavier rainfall. Hotter summer days. Ice storms. Flooding. Unpredictable winters.

These changes can affect our homes, streets, parks, businesses, and daily lives in different ways across the community. The Town of Kentville is working on a Climate Risk Assessment and Climate Action Plan — and your experience can help shape the decisions we make for the future.

Kentville is planning for a changing climate

To prepare for future risks, the Town is developing a Climate Risk Assessment and Climate Action Plan to better understand:

  • What climate-related challenges Kentville faces
  • Which areas and services are most affected
  • How residents experience these changes
  • What actions should be prioritized to improve resilience

Your input will help inform future decisions about:

  • Infrastructure and roads
  • Stormwater and flooding
  • Parks and public spaces
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Community services
  • Heat and cooling spaces
  • Long-term planning and investments
